For all of us who recieved the thin letter is anyone else trying to reverse their standing as I am. I know just about everyone does and that the odds are completely against you but I was just wondering if anyone else is as desperate as me.

If you read around some of the other threads here, you'll find other people in the same situation.

While at CVW, the admissions officer explicitly told us that once you've received the thin letter, your file is closed for the year. While your persistence is admirable, I suggest you roll with the punch and get ready for a year at a civilian college.

I was in your position last year...I know it's disappointing, but you have to take it in stride. I'm currently in my third quarter at the U of Washington in Seattle. It's great here. I'm in NROTC on the scholarship, but I'm reapplying for USNA as it's what I really want. I have yet to hear anything, but I'm optimistic.

I suggest you get into NROTC at your university, study like every test will deterimine your admissions status, and have fun while you can.

Good luck next year, and Godspeed!

I already recieved an NROTC scholarship to Georgia Tech and thats where I plan to attend if I cannot find a way in. Ive heard some stories of kids showing up on I-day and getting in on pure determination. I'm gonna see what I can do still. I'll let you know what happens.

"I have yet to hear anything, but I'm optimistic"

Correction...I just heard.

USNA Class of 2010!!

Congrats! You should be excited.

hey congrats dmeix!!! u definitely deserve it. best of luck

I know I'm out of my usual territory here in the Navy thread, but, THATTABOY DMeix!!!!! I've been pulling for you and really admire your persistance, you remind me of SpiderMD last year. Chalk up another Texan.

Congratulations!!!!

Congratulations DMeix!

Does anyone have any advice for me other than to give up? That doesnt seem like the thing a good midshipmen would do.

Sorry bkveen, but once you have received an official "no" for this year's pool your file is closed.
If you are intent on pursuing the USNA, pick yourself up, go on with plan B, and begin again!
Best of Luck.

Congratulations DMeix!! Yay for reapplicants!

yay DMeix!! lol it feels like we all know each other because we've all heard the trials and tribulations you've been through....congrats!!

I echo the congratulations, DMeix! You've definitely had your share of the waiting, and I respect your perseverance. See you in June!

Thanks everyone!

It definitely seems very surreal. I have to repeat to myself over and over "I'm going to USNA"...for so long when ever anyone asked (which has been nearly every day) it was always "I'm applying to USNA" or "No word yet."

Two years is a long time, and it was tough, but "no one said it would be easy...only that it'd be worth it."

I will see you all in June!

Wow!!! Congratulations - Perseverance pays off!

Yippee! {Spidermom dances around the gameroom}

Never a doubt, dmeix!

"I suggest you get into NROTC at your university, study like every test will deterimine your admissions status, and have fun while you can." -dmeix

Brilliant advice! CONGRATULATIONS DMEIX!!! :)

Congrats DMeix--see ya' in August (I'm not going out to see dd off in June)
