Rejected/deferred

Have rejected or deferred people heard yet? I still have not received any mail whatsoever…

Hi, Mishka1,
My daughter hasn't heard yet either.... we live in the South. Where do you live?

I live in the South too :)

I called admissions twice today, and they ASSURED me that many accepted students have not received letters, but unfortunately, they did not tell me if I got in. Also, they said that if you receive no notification by Wednesday, they can tell you over the phone Thursday!

I called on behalf of my D (who is out of the country taking a gap year and thus not easily able to call herself...besides that she is working this week taping a tv thing in the evening her time, which is daytime/working hours in our hemisphere) and I was told that they will not give out any info over the phone until late this week because they want to be sure everyone has had a chance to get their letter in the mailbox first. Why the mail delivery is crucial I'm not quite sure, it seems easy since you are on the phone and they are looking it up anyway to simply say "Congrats!" or "I'm sorry, she was waitlisted/rejected/etc") but it seemed to be a policy. The only thing they could verify was the mailing address the communication went to.... which was helpful because my D wasn't sure if it would be sent to here in the US or to China. But now our postal delivery person is on the lookout and will ring the doorbell if a Priority package comes :)

hang in there! it is certainly rough to have to wait (i had to wait all weekend and i thought for sure i had been rejected/deferred) but it will come. at least Barnard will tell you by Thursday!
