Rejected from UCLA

Damn Corinne! You have great self-control, hahahah. Good luck to ya!

haha yeah this place has all you can eat for like $12, which I thought was a sweet deal since it’s only two dollars more. After the first time going, I realized I could eat half of it at most.

Ohh I wouldn’t say I have such good self control. I’m a wreck right now, I just am assuming it’s a rejection since I’ve seen all of 0 regular econ acceptances and plenty of biz econ rejections with GPAs higher than mine (3.73). I’m hoping that the fact I got all of my non-As except 1 were in hs will help me but idk.

corrine, you work at nasa ames?! so do i!!! which department do u work in?

@emil holy **** u were rejected?

Would the admissions officer know the information on why I got rejected if I were to call them tomorrow? I would suspect that it would be quite busy tomorrow if I were to call.

n262! I still have a contract there but I actually just stopped working there recently because I just moved back in April after taking a quarter in tahoe. I still pop in occasionally to say hi but its such a pain in the ass with the security clearance and badges and what not. you?

@Grimes99 and everyone else

I went to Ralphs, bought a whole red velvet cheesecake (frozen), came home, ate half with nonfat milk, and now I am still hurting.

I am about to ripe Vu Tran’s head off.

^hahahaha awww! :frowning: :frowning: :(

red velvet cheescake ftw!

Rejected, but expected
3.3 GPA, Psychology

my god, I feel so gross right now and I am watching House to make me feel better.

There are still other schools that I am waiting for. I hope that with my GPA and ECs, I will be accepted to those schools. As for those who were rejected, look forward to other schools.

REJECTED

Current School: UC Irvine

Current Major: Business Economics

Applied Major: Business Economics @ UCLA (I was a UC-UC transfer applicant)

GPA: 3.933

Extra Curricular Activities: UCI Entrepreneur Society Active Member since Fall '08,
Currently Participating in SCORE (Counselor’s to America’s Small Business) workshops with certificate upon completion. Dean’s Honor’s list all quarters. I’ve done Extensive Volunteer-work throughout High School (They allowed you to list this on the application, but I don’t know how much they care about it)

Work: Internet Marketing and Sales position at a Small Business for ~4.2 years (2006-present, 12 hours a week)…grew the business by over 30% in terms of profits.

Prereqs: All Done.

Essays: 8-9/10

@caroll: alright now you’re just tripping me out. I drink nonfat milk exclusively… and I only know one other person who does the same.

another vote for nonfat milk only… whole milk is like drinking butter, ewwwwww

I will give UCLA a call and ask them about what I was told pertaining to prerequisites. If we did not complete the prerequisites because it was not at our college, then we should not be penalized for it. If they tell me if that was the reason I was rejected, it would be rather disappointing. Based on my stats, would you consider me a strong candidate?

@external…I think you are definitely a strong candidate! Fight back, or at the very least ask them what went wrong. I’m on the same boat as far as prereq’s not being offered at my CC, except since I’m in hawaii, there’s only one CC on the entire island…so yeah not too many options.

But anyway, call them tomorrow! I will, I just want to know what the problem was…

Thank you very much, nicolles. Best of luck to you when you call tomorrow!

@ External

You are a really strong candidate…imma call tomorrow also…good luck!

I was also rejected by UCLA but got the admission from UCSD, a communications studies major.

I have 4.0 GPA and participated in the Honors program at one of CCC which related in UCLA.

I assumed that I have completed all prepatory courses (although 2 of which were finished at a Community college in Washington State). I was so bummed when I received the rejection and I still don’t know what my chances are of getting into UCB now (I apply Media Studies major).

Has anyone here ever rejected by UCLA but admitted by UCB as a transfer student?
