Are you serious! did you apply with a 2.6 or did you get a 2.6 after this fall semester???

2.6 after fall semester. Prior to fall, I had a 2.86 I think when i applied.

Donnie did you apply anywhere else? Or have you gotten admitted?

I applied to SD, UCI and Cal. All long shots.

Trust me, I’m just as baffled as you are.

donniebrasco, I remember someone with the same name on PBnation. Coincidence, or is that you?

Coincidence.

My son was rejected.

OaksMom, you mentioned to Lionheart, “I would call the admissions office and speak to someone about your rejection.”

is there specific person to call? It might be better to call a person than just talk to who ever answers the phone? and what does one ask? Something like, Can you tell me the basis of my denial? A friend of ours who is a professor at a private college and a ucsc alumnus (as am I) wrote a letter to the director of admissions, and my son was eligible–should I call the director?

Even though the appeals deadllines have passed, is there still a chance?

Man this site makes me crazy, had to become a member. UCSC has not accepted/rejected me yet.

Wow! What’s up with UCSC this year? Looks like they’re getting it ALL wrong. Maybe a glitch? @__@;; I’m sorry for those of you who didn’t get in…you have some great stats! Best of luck!

If the appeals deadline has passed, what happens with students who don’t have a decision yet? Do they lose their opportunity to appeal?

^ i have been wondering that as well.

ohmyyy…glad I didnt apply to UCSC…I would have been depressed if they rejected me. not because I want to go there but because…WHAT THE EFF?! but keep your head up, I’m sure the rejection was because they knew you wouldnt enroll…keep your head up for Cal and LA… with those stats, you definetly have a good chance.

i really think that UCs are cutting back enrollment in less competitive schools, even for transfers. cause cutting down enrollment in competitive ones would just be stupid. it seems that anyone over a 3.0 is being rejected from ucsc, sjsu, sdsu etc… and thats the theory i’ve come up with. i think they expect u to get into ucsd or ucsb or uci if u applied and hope u go there instead of these places, being they are more competitive… idk

I don’t know how much I agree with the previous post. Im a sophomore at UC Santa Cruz and trust me there is just no room for transfers. I live at College 8 and all of the regular dorm rooms(doubles) have turned into triples. For the transfer applicants who didn’t get in, it wasn’t that you weren’t good enough there simply isn’t enough housing for undergrads and transfer students. The school wants to build 2 new colleges but that’s gonna take years!

hey, i got rejected too
but was told i was in some encore program? does that mean i just got rejected too… haha wonderful! 3.5 - environmental science. im sure i had some pre reqs missing … not my first choice but definitely shocked

I got rejected as well, but accepted at UCI, UCSB, and UCD.

I don’t know what’s going on with the aplication process. seems like a rough year for all of us, it better be like this for years to come. we seem to be paying the most consequences because of the budget crisis. this is ridiculous

Did you have at least 60 UC transferable units?
