Applied for Economics, stats were:
4.02 W gpa

( other four current )
1860 SAT
27 ACT

Just wondering if there is any hope for UCSB or UCSD (also applied to UCLA and UCB for fun, though idk if it’s so fun anymore… $140 wasted) I was also rejected from SLO, only accepted to Cal Poly Pomona. Really considering Community College, but all the work in HS for nothing is awfully daunting. Anyone out there in a similar position or know if there’ any hope? Thanks everybody

I was rejected from Davis, Cal Poly and Riverside.
I have higher test scores, but a much lower GPA, you definitely have a shot.

Yeah man it’s tough out there, best of luck to you, test scores seem to be the make or break for alot of people, wish I did better on those haha. @zacattack16

You shouldn’t have piled your AP classes into your senior year. It could have been better if you had taken 7 APs before senior year and 1 or 2 APs your senior year. You have a chance at UCSB!

I got rejected from Davis and UCSC too. My hopes for Irvine are diminishing lol I really hope I get into UCI.
My stats:
3.73 UC GPA
1650 SAT (610 WR, 540 M, 500 CR)
7 AP (4 senior year)

@itsaBenzThing Damn bro, I’m sorry, that’s rough, I would’ve guessed you would be a shoe-in for UCSC, UCI is like 20 minutes away from where I live, and I’d have to live at home if I went there, so I didn’t bother applying. Wishing I applied there or UCSC now, because my hopes are diminishing as well.
What did you major in? and did you apply to any state schools?

Update: Just Rejected from UCSD. :X

Not to be mean or anything, but can someone post the text from the UC Davis rejection letter? Someone at my school was talking about how in the letter UC Davis said they only admitted 5000 students,which didn’t sound right…so i want to see for myself.

Got rejected from UCSB haha @niklas
@saif235
After careful review of your application. I regret that we are unable to offer you admission to UC Davis for fall quarter 2014. I want to personally thank you for your application. You were part of an exceptional group of about 60,500 applicants from which UC Davis could enroll a freshman class of 5,100.

that’s the first paragraph of the e-mail

^So does that mean that only 5100 were admitted or they only expected 5100 to matriculate? That was their expected matriculation count from last year, but the way they worded it makes it seem as though they only admitted that many…

saif235: It means that their target for enrolled is 5100. They accept about 3 times that many. My older son was accepted and currently attending this year. During orientation, they stated within the next 10 years, they want to increase enrollment by another 5000 students. They just finished building more freshman dorms and plan on adding more in the future but for right now 5100 is their target.

@Sustenance I applied for Public Health Sciences at UCI. If I don’t get in I’m gonna appeal.

@ItsaBenzThing
I did some thinking, and actually realized that Idk how I was thinking of paying the 100k cost of attending a UC for four years, I did research on student loan debt and what it can do to college grads. I am actually not too upset with attending a CC, just wish I knew this earlier. Good luck with you @ UCI, For me, 4 year colleges - out of sight out of mind, moving forward, actually taking a mature outlook on it and realizing that the two years of college experience may in fact not be worth acquiring upwards of 60k in debt. Good luck with whatever you do!

@Sustenance Do you think I have a good chance at Irvine? (3.73 UC GPA, 1650 SAT)

Yeah you’ve got a fair shot it seems like a crapshoot for UC’s though… @itsabenzthing
