Rejection?

I just got my caltech decision letter and was rejected. Does this give me a good prediction of what MIT's decision will be since they are both similar schools? (Don't care about caltech cuz MIT's my dreamschool. :P) I'm not depressed, but it seems like since caltech rejected me, MIT will reject me also... Has anybody been rejected from caltech but admitted into MIT?

I would assume that decisions of the two schools are correlated, but Caltech is far more numbers-oriented then MIT, so plenty of room exists for differing decisions.

Waitlisted by Caltech, and numbers are my strong point. Uh oh…

I know someone who was rejected from Caltech but got into MIT EA. It’s possible.

I applied to 18 schools and was rejected by 3. Caltech was one of them. MIT wasn’t.

I got deferred by both, and then accepted by both, and rejected everywhere else. Probably correlated. Also, my numbers sucked. I think it’s more passion for math and science.

One of my MIT fraternity brothers was rejected by CalTech (but was accepted by MIT obviously).

I am also rejected by Caltech and I am an international with a medal in international physics olympiad. However, i beleive that my rejection was probably due to the demand of full financial aid. Now i am very apprehensive about my mit decision. But never mind! My world won’t end due to a couple of rejections. I know whatever happens happens for the best. Good luck to all of you(especially caltech rejectees:D).

There’s no correlation apart from the obvious
