Caltech rejects all waitlist applicants

<p>Got the following e-mail from Caltech:</p>

<p>"For the past week, we have been closely monitoring the class of incoming
students committed to Caltech. We have met the enrollment target of the
Institute, and have decided to release all the candidates remaining on our
Waitlist.</p>

<p>While we are unable to offer you a position in the class, I want to thank you
for your continued interest in Caltech, the effort and enthusiasm you
demonstrated in your application, and your patience in this final process. We
hope you have wonderful college opportunities and wish you the very best of
luck in your educational future."</p>

<p>Ah well. Going to MIT anyway (btw MIT didn't accept anyone from waitlist either). Best of luck to all the other Caltech waitlistees.</p>

<p>Anyway, it’s pretty elite to get on Caltech’s waitlist. Means they would be happy to have you there if there was just a little more room. Congrats on MIT acceptance. You will do well.</p>

<p>Thanks Journier…yeah, I’ve been deciding whether Caltech or MIT would fit me better. I kind of like MIT’s emphasis on applied science and math, and I really like Cambridge.</p>

<p>Caltech waitlist made you to choose MIT perfectly.</p>
