Relationship Advice

I'm a Sophomore, and I really have this crush on this Freshman. I told my friends this, and they said that this was weird. I used to hate this person, and I play the "hard-to-get" type of person and put him down. Also he's taller than me by like 5 inches lol.

Is liking/dating a freshman weird? What should I do?

Yes, it’s very weird. You should check yourself into a mental hospital A.S.A.P.

defree, never failing to be unhelpful…while it is a little odd when the woman is the older one (because society makes males want to be the dominant one) there shouldn’t be anything holding you back as long as you’re both happy. I feel like the issue is more of a concern for the guy because of societal conventions.

Actually, I thought my sarcasm was spot on. Dating someone within a year of you is nothing out of the ordinary, and I’m surprised anyone would think differently. The women being older by one year is certainly not odd either.

I’ve seen senior girls date freshman guys, nothing wrong with a one year gap.

I’m in the same position, except the freshman is a few inches shorter than me. My friends make fun of me all the time, but I mean as long as you’re happy it shouldn’t matter. It’s only a year…

People might poke fun of you because society hates women and all that, but I’d say go for it if you want it. I myself like a year-younger mate.

I’m a senior guy, and I’m dating a freshman in college.

I say go for it. You’ve got nothing to lose. Just make sure you’re obvious about it… Us guys are oblivious…

Whatever, it’s fine. This is totally not weird…

It gets disturbing when it’s like, a 19 year old with a 14 year old.

But even then, whatever, people always like sensationalism.

To be honest, I think if this is what you feel, you should go with your heart. If you really like him, then it shouldn’t matter the age at all. There are plenty of people that have dated people that are way older than them, as well as way younger than them. Since its only a 1 year difference, I personally don’t think this is much of a big deal.
