REPORTING IN MY SAT IMPROVEMENT GUYS (comment if you want)

LOL, well I took the SAT in May 2008 and got my scores about two weeks later
Math-660
Reading-600
Writing-610
TOTAL- 1870

I was truly dissapointed and sad...So I studied for about two weeks (very intensely; about 5-6 hours per day and a total of 9-10 practice tests over all)
I took them in June. I know it was a very quick and maybe bad move, but I wanted to have another chance in October to retake them since I'm doing early app/decision.

Well, today I got my June Scores and.....
Math-680
Reading-640
Writing-720
TOTAL- 2040

I am retaking the SAT again in October, to see if I can bring up my math score, because I am pretty sure I can get 750+ this time around :D

Just thought you guys would like to know

what did you use to study.... i pplan on doing intensive studying this summer about 3-4 hours a day...i took the SAT twice and very very very disappointed

Princeton Review and College Board online....

but alot of practice tests is the key

I'm sure I can get at least 2150 super scored next time

and I wish u luck as well

alot

" a lot"

^ that bugs me too lol

haha its great hearing about improvements! for i've done the same thing in preparing for June SAT and i actually improved 210 points, from 1890[march] to 2100!

I did every practice test in the blue book once...and felt pretty good afterwards. Although I'm not very satisfied with a 2100 flat and an 8 on my freaking essay, Im extremely happy that i made such big improvements and reached my goal of hitting 2100+. I would not have wanted to retake the SAT a third time >0< , which is not likely to happen now. lol. im too lazy to prepare again...

I think that doing well on the SAT really has to do with how nervous/ how anxious you are when you enter the testing room and during the test...
Obviously preparing might help but after like 3 practice tests
I took a prep course that was really rigorous and took around 20 practice tests during the course and seriously the highest score I had ever gotten during the course was a 2080...and then I walked into the March SAT feeling prepared but really nervous... that time I had got a 1990 (eww...sucky score)
BUT
For the June SAT, since I was already familiar with the format, I just worked on this CR Barrons book at Borders for like 2 hours on a day that I didn't have a lot a homework the week before and that is all...I didn't even bother trying to do vocab again or anything...I walked in on the day of the test as calmly as possible and kept my mind clear. I already knew about testing procedures and from my previous preparation for the March SAT was already familiar with the test...The most important thing was that I kept my mind focused and as calm as possible. I worked through the questions and then because I had 5 minutes at the end of like all the sections I went back and checked all of my answers and redid like math problems that I thought were easy to make mistakes on... you could call it luck but I got a 2290! WOHOOO!

Here is my advice to you...
DON'T waste your summer sitting in an SAT Prep course! Do something that you like(for example take a sports camp, volunteer somewhere, go travel etc.)
Take around 3 practice test before the SAT but that is it. Just familiarize yourself with the format.
To improve on CR...READ! A lot! I think I read a lot between March and June even if it was in preparation for APs/SAT 2's or whatever and it paid off to a 100 point improvement(630-730) Even if the books are not that intense, but if you enjoy reading them you will be a lot more focused on SAT passages...
