One of my professors put up the book list, but two of the required books (and one of the "optionals") is not available through the UCLA bookstore. Now, I buy all my books through Amazon. But I'm a little worried that their unavailability is a signal that I may not need them after all, or that they are available through the library or as an ebook online or... whatever. Hmm, maybe they just aren't available NOW?? Should I just order them through Amazon or what? Oh, and is it worth getting "optional" books?

some of my books were like that according to the uclastore and i always buy mine from halfcom. SO i actually emailed my prof about it and gave him the list on the site. He responded back by saying that i do need all the books although they werent available or it said optional. I suggest emailing your prof and ask.

not one of my books for any of my classes is up on the list, weirddd

How strange. Thanks Conn. I checked my teaches web page and they are all def. required.

^ no problem! :)

where do you find out what books you need?

One of my classes listed 3 books, it took me a minute to first out the first one was the main text, the second one was another required book, and the third one was a bundle of both. UCLA only carried the bundle, but listed all 3 as required.
Another class had two books listed; one was a hardcover, and one was a loose-leaf edition. Same book.
The last of my 3 classes requires a book created CUSTOM FOR UCLA. *** WHY??!

such a scam.

Miss Anastasia: you can find the books by clicking the course number and then it has a link for textbooks. I get to the course number by looking up my academic planner on MyUCLA.

and Bmop, that is BS. Thanks for the heads up. I’ll watch out for that stuff when ordering.
