Hello, I have just finished up my freshman year of college and I am planning on majoring in Management with a minor in Marketing or Entrepreneurship. However, I have recently become interested in possibly attending Dentistry school after graduation. My questions are: 1. Do I have to have a science major to be accepted into Dentistry school? and 2. If not, what kinds of course should I take in addition to my business courses to be more competitive?

1.) You do not need to have a science major to be accepted into dental school. You do need to have completed the science pre-reqs required for dental school admission

2.) These courses are required by all US dental schools:

• 2 semesters introductory bio for science majors with labs
• 2 semesters general chemistry for science majors with labs
• 2 semesters organic chemistry with labs
• 2 semester of physics for science majors with labs
• 2 semesters of English composition

Specific schools may have additional requirements for any or all of the following: calculus, analytic geometry, microbiology, biochemistry, human physiology, anatomy, fine arts, psychology.
