Rescind Rate Question

Hey,
I've read the other threads about rescind rates.

And the general consensus was 3 C's 1 D or 1 E and you get a letter asking for an explanation.

Where are people getting that information from?
Is there a concrete source, or is just a guess?

Does anyone know? Or is it just, I heard it through the grape vine?

There are no published figures on rescind rates. All universities rescind students, but most stories are myth rather than fact. Obviously, there is no excuse for a 3.8-4.0 student to all of a sudden drop to below a 2.5 GPA. Dropping from straight As to straight Bs is fine. Mixing it up a little with one or two Cs while still getting a couple of As is also fine. But dropping to a bunch of Cs and a couple of Bs will raise unwanted attention and once you dip into the Ds, probation (which will stay on a student's record) or rescinding could well happen. School is out for summer in late May/early June, I recommend studying hard until then.

They say that at the info sessions.

That's relieving...

I figure as more admissions get sent out, more people will be wondering about this as well.

What counsolers at our school said is every year they get about 3 or 4 letters revoking admission (out of classes of about 750-800) so I know this doesn't happen to many, but I didn't know what kind of grade drops those people had.

A lady at an info session said she was one of the people who rescinded admissions, and she said they are pretty rigid with the three cs, 1 D or E thing for rescinding. So, I think that would be a concrete source.
