Hi, I was accepted into UW with a 3.4 GPA and an SAT of 1290.
My GPA is pretty low for UW, and I was extremely surprised I even got accepted. Unfortunately, I got struck with a pretty bad case of senioritis. My grades both last semester and this are quite a bit lower than what I normally put up, and my GPA has dropped to a 3.28. I actually failed my calculus I class at EvCC. (Yeah also I’m Running Start) Knowing that UW is extremely selective, what do you guys recon the chances are that I may be rescinded? Do you know of any stories of rescinded colleagues that relate to me?
Senioritis isn’t like the flu. Exposure doesn’t mean you’ll catch it.
Senioritis is a choice.
So I think that the point that @clubpenguindude was making-- though in and incredibly insulting way-- was this: uncatch it. Don’t “try” to improve your grades. It’s mid March. There’s still plenty of time until those final grades go onto the transcript. You’re obviously bright enough to get into UW, so it’s time to tap into that potential and prove to them that they were right in accepting you.
Don’t worry about getting rescinded, since that ball is in their court. Worry about improving those grades-- that puts YOU into posession of the power.
And sometimes lines like “un-get senioritis aka get ur head out of ur butt so u dont get rescinded” are, while incredibly funny and cool in the eyes of some, both unkind and disrespectful in the eyes of the rest of us.
There are ways of making your point without lying… or insulting anyone.
