Rescinding a Transfer Acceptance??

Hi all,

So I just got accepted to Cornell AEM as a sophomore transfer from Notre Dame. What I'm wondering is if I'm at risk of having my admission rescinded since my GPA this semester has tanked. My midterm report was a 3.0 but that was only from 2 out of 4 classes, but I think it might drop down to the high or mid 2's. The reason is that I've become rather unhappy and demotivated at ND and started slacking, but now that I know I'm heading somewhere I really want to go I think I can pick it up these last few weeks of the semester. If I get around a 2.7 is there a big risk of being rescinded? None of the classes I'm in are particularly important to the AEM program, they are just ND's requirements, besides Business Law which I should get a B+ in. And if it matters my GPA first semester was a 3.47...

Also I will be taking around 12 credits over the summer at my local SUNY school (Cornell takes all their credits) to kill some requirements, which should all be easy A's for me with the possible exception of biology which should still be pretty easy for me. Dunno if this is at all relevant but I just thought I should throw it out there.

Thanks for the advice!

Congrats, and let me be the first to welcome you to one of the best majors at Cornell. I don’t think you will be at risk for Cornell rescinding your offer. Best to move on your admission deposit sooner rather than later perhaps though. Message me if you want the “Easy” classes to take here to boost your GPA.

What happened with your situation? Did you get rescinded?
