I read that UCR requires a C or better in all senior-level classes. I have A’s and B’s in all of my classes except Sports Med (76%) and English (73%). The English grade should go up to a high C, and Sports Med will stay at a C. Do I have to worry about the C’s affecting my GPA? I’m currently at a straight 3.0.
The UC’s provisional admission contract states no D’s or F’s and maintain a weighted GPA of 3.0. If you have any concerns, contact admissions. I am sure you are fine.
Off my portal:
PROVISIONS OF ADMISSION
Complete all courses listed on your application as in progress and/or planned with C grades or better. If you receive a D or F grade, you must notify your admission counselor at admit@ucr.edu.
Graduate from high school.
Submit all official final transcripts and any other required documents to UCR’s Undergraduate Admissions postmarked by July 1. Failure to meet this deadline will jeopardize your admission. If you plan to complete any summer course work, submit your official final transcripts postmarked by September 15th.
Is the 3.0 still enforced?
If 3.0 is not spelled out in your provisional admission contract, then probably no. Just make sure no D’s or F’s. Apparently each UC has different variations of the provisional admission contract. UCD required a weighted 3.0 GPA for Senior year and I know UCLA/UCB requires an unweighted 3.0 with no more than 2 C’s. You should be fine, but there is no harm in contacting admissions.
