Research opportunities in Umich. Difficult/competitive to get involved?

Hi, guys,
I just got accepted from LSA and am planning to major in Psychology.

Tbh, I have not decided where to transfer to between Umich and Washu.

So, I was wondering if getting involved in research (becoming a RA) is too competitive / difficult at Umich due to a lot of students (public school + popular major) or fairly easy due to many faculties/researchers/etc.

Plus, if there is any psych major student at Umich now, could u give any information in regards to ur academic life at Umich as Psych major, please?

Thank you!
Cheers,

It’s the latter. There are definitely more research opportunities available than students. You just need to ask broadly and be open to different types of projects.

I have a friend who’s a psych major at Umich. It’s very easy to find research opportunities. You really just need to ask around. She has found work being a group counselor at CAPS and also doing data entry at the hospital.
