I was wondering about the different room types that first year students can pick. I checked the website but they really don't clarify properly and it keeps bugging me. So, does anyone know of how the bathrooms are fixed? Like for single rooms, do they get their own bathroom? Any answer on the rooms would be helpful.
Thanks!

As a freshmen, the process is totally random. One does not get to list preferences, type of room or dormitory. As you gain senority in the dorm, your room most likely will improve as you become an upperclassman. As far as singles with bathrooms, those are few and far between. There are a handful of those in the dorm that my daughter is in. Most likely, you will be using the group of bathrooms down the hall.

As a freshman, you have absolutely no choice about what type of room you get. You can request accommodations for allergies or a disability, but that's pretty much it. Also, there is no chance of getting a single or a private bathroom freshman year as far as I know. However, as you get older, there are more options. In my dorm, singles mostly go to seniors and juniors, and there are private bathrooms in the quints. But they aren't all they're cracked up to be since you also have to clean them yourself...

No male dorms even have singles with bathrooms. A few women's dorms do, but no one but seniors get those.

um, ice cube, just so you know, these are not the dorms of a state uni, or any kind of newish school

all the freshman rooms are pretty gosh darn small......I'm in a forced triple myself, communal bathrooms. I don;t think it's a big deal, but if you want to be comfy, um, goodluck at nD
