Residential Colleges

I'm not a legacy, but I really really really want to know which college I'll be in right now.. :) Any others in this boat?

I don't even know which one I would prefer...
I hear a lot of good things about so many of them.
My tour guide was in Saybrook

I'm going to be in Trumbull!!!!!

hooray TC '13

eating food, are you a legacy? Or is that wishful thinking?

i'ma legacy dawggg

I'm sure I'll love whatever college I end up in, but... TD's blog is ridiculously awesome. :)

All the colleges are great, and very few people transfer out of them.

^ I agree.... ALTHOUGH, I would absolutely LOVE to be in Berkeley!!

haha yeah drbigboyjoe, I loove Berkeley toooo :)
but I'm sure I'd be fine with whatever.

I heard Berkeley has the best food...so I'll have to wish for that :)

I have legacy at D'port AND Pierson... So clearly I'm going to have to be making a decision some time soon.

i'd choose dport if i were you. ldub sucks lol and welch is awesome. but of course, all of you will be happy in all of the residential colleges you'll be placed in.

I went back to a thread about residential colleges in the Yale forum and read stuff about there being cockroaches, especially in LDub. This really really scares me!!!

well honestly, there are roaches everywhere. and mice..and yeah. but don't let it frighten you. roaches aren't the worst part of ldub. the rooms are really tiny and cramped and it just isn't very pretty lol. but it's a lot better than housing at most colleges.

Someone please confirm the fact that there are bigger and grosser cockroaches at Harvard. That would make me feel lots better, haha!

I have seen a cockroach in the U.S. once. In Miami, where they breed like crazy!

What do you mean by a legacy?

legacy means parents/grandparents went to the school. woooo nepotism, not gonna lie I'm a little bitter since my mum went to SUNY Buffalo..but wutchya gonna do :)

Q: people always say that kids rarely transfer residential colleges, but what about the kids who get put in Stiles or Morse? I went to visit Yale last April and they just seemed so gross and isolated to me...anyone have anything redeeming to say about them? Just wondering...

I'm a Branford girl myself :)

well, morse and stiles aren't quite the most attractive colleges (but then again some people think they're beautiful), they're just different lol.but that's not too say they have their perks. they're in a cool location, right next to broad street and the gym. plus they're being renovated next year and the year after, so soon they'll be really awesome. they're dining halls (which are connected by the kitchens) are going to be the most expensive (and amazing) dining halls in the country. so that will be really cool. unfortunately it won't be done until i'm a senior. the people i know in morse and stiles love their colleges, in fact i'd say morsels have the most pride. they're also just really cool people lol. most of my friends are in morse and stiles so i'm a bit biased lol. if i ever had to transfer, i would definitely transfer to morse. so if you find out that you're morse or stiles, don't worry, you'll be with the some of the most awesome people on campus which is the most important.

Well first I have to get in to Yale ;) But that'd work out for me, the renovations I mean, since I'd be class of 2014 (that sounds so futuristic!) it'd be effective once I'd have to move into the college...but I still like Branford the most (it might be the Rory Gilmore in me, you never know :))

I want to be in Branford.

Just because of Rory. Haha...I would be happy in any of them but I guess if I got to pick I would choose Branford...even though I don't know anything about it. That's ok. If it's good enough for Rory it's good enough for me!

I can just picture myself studying under a big old green tree. Just like Rory. hahah besides the whole studying part.
