Does anyone know of any good restaurants in the Dartmouth/Hanover area, particularly one that might give you a good college feel?

Molly's! Molly's has great food, is reasonably priced, and is decorated with all kinds of Dartmouth paraphernalia. It serves American and Italian food. Oh and the free bread they serve is to die for. Seriously. It even has a website you can check out: http://www.mollysrestaurant.com/

EBA's and Ramunto's serve pizza and are big favorites among college students. Lou's is a really cute diner that serves breakfast and lunch. Jewel of India isn't really collegey but it's my fav restaurant in town. The Wrap and the Orient are also yummy, and I'll mention the Canoe Club even though it's expensive and I've never been there. All these restaurants are in Hanover and take like two minutes to walk to from the Green.

My son and I ate at Molly's last Friday while up at Dartmouth for a tour and we both enjoyed the food etc. Would definitely recommend. Lou's is also good for breakfast and dinner and is a college tradition of sorts having been around since 1947 (my father, Dartmouth '50) remembers going there as a student and knew the family that owned it. Probably cannot go wrong there either. Hanover Inn has three different restaurants within it of varied degrees of formality or informality. I think there was a restaurant listing on a sheet you could pick up in the Admissions Office so look for that too.

Correction on my previous post. Lou's serves breakfast and lunch. Do not think it serves dinner.

hanover dining list

Agree with all of the above - EBA's and Ramunto's are cheap and delicious, Molly's is fun and friendly.

And you can't go wrong with the Bagel Basement, a cute hippie-ish tiny basement which makes and serves (among other delicious breakfast goodies) the miracle that is OLIVE CREAM CHEESE. Seriously, yum.

For an upscale meal, the Canoe Club is a good choice. Also, the burrito place on Main Street (Balaco?) is very similar to Qdoba Mexican Grill, although perhaps a little better.

The students tend to really like Molly's for dinner. I also like Murphy's but D usually only wants to eat lunch there. They also like Jessie's which you need a car for, it's about 5 - 10 minute ride. You see tons of other Dartmouth students at Jessie's. It's an inexpensive steak place with a salad bar. Whenever parents come to visit they take the students to Molly's or Jessie's. Canoe Club is also very good. I also like Zins, which is in the Hanover Inn, and is probably in the same price range as Canoe Club but may have a broader menu. There's also a new Chinese food place on, I think, Lebanon Street, which D says is good. And the last time I was there it looked like a new restaurant was opening in the same building.

There are tons of places in Leb/West Leb, everything from fast food to Lui Lui (Italian place, yum :) )

Oh and the burrito place is called Boloco, the burritos at the Hop are way better but suit yourself... Mollys reminds me of these places in NY such as Red Lobsters and TGI Fridays... Many people from the D go to Molly's because it's so close to the school. Please try Mai Thai, or Jewel of India if you would like really good food, Dartmouthians frequent these restaurants too. And if you dare go to India Queen...thats all I am going to say about that!!!!

Ramunto's or C&A's pizza is way better than EBAs so please make the right decision.

Mai Thai might be the best Thai I've ever had...

dont miss AJs in white river....only open for dinner i believe
the largest prime rib you ve ever seen...share it
comes with salad and soup bar...dress down type of place
