retainers

odd question…but are retainers aloud during BCT? or at the air force academy?

Not during BCT I don't think, but you can while here, plenty do. Many even have braces! (I will after Christmas leave).

My son did have his during BCT, but just wore it at night. I think he pretty much does the same now.

Ok thanks that is what i was hoping to do. but i also have a permanent one on my front bottom teeth. would that need to be removed?

yes, it's allowed. i had a permanent one on bottom but it broke off before BCT, so i switched to one i could take out. i wore my retainers every night during BCT, so it is allowed

Permanent retainers are ok during Beast. I have one on the top and one on the bottom, and I was fine during Beast. You'll wear a mouthguard for pretty much everything that could be dangerous for your mouth, so you shouldn't have anything to worry about.

A guy in my basic flight wore a retainer for all of basic training and only took it out before meals and then before we did any course in Jack's Valley. So, yes, you can hang onto yours.

hornet with braces?? haha that should be fun :)

I'll be sure to train you often for the next few months to make up for all the crap I'll get from you after recognition. ;)

you gonna be cadre hornetguy? how bout your other classmates on here. hehehe

I'm debating whether or not to be cadre actually. I will be an EMT for one of the BCT periods, so I will probably go on Ops the other rather than give it up for cadre. We'll see! ;)

Hornet...Cadre hmmm. You will be joining Duckphreak at Group next. You don't like explosives do you?

Everyone in the Air Force likes explosives.

lol, I would not do group if I did. I would be at the flight level, down and dirty you could say. :)

Yes, explosives are good. Chemistry helps in figuring them out too. :)
