I got 1820 the first time I took the SAT (M 670 CR 560 W 590), but I felt I could have if not should have done better on Critical Reading. In practice tests I scored from 620-640. I want to apply to my schools ASAP, and retaking could be a gamble that costs me valuable time, However I think I might be able to do better.

Another option is retaking the ACT Which I got 26 on the first time (E 26 M 30 R 21 S 28), but something went terribly wrong in reading obviously. If it wasn't part of the composite I'd have gotten a 28, and I could probably get at least 26 if I retake (Which would yield a 28 from my best scores).

Retaking would be aimed at 5 schools on my list: Wisconsin, Texas, Washington, Pitt and Ohio State, while I am also applying to FSU, Rutgers and LSU.

What should I do?
