<p>I got my SAT scores back today and I ended up with a 10 on my essay (790 writing). </p>
<p>I'm a fairly strong writer and writing competitions/etc. are a significant part of my application so the 10 kind of contradicts all of that- I know a 10 isn't horrible but I know I could have easily gotten a 12 with a traditional SAT prompt. Is it worth the extra effort to try for a 12? Aside from the essay I'm fine with my score, and from what I've read on here, it seems as if adcoms don't really look at the essay subscore (let alone the writing score) that much so I'm leaning towards no... just wanted some additional input. </p>
