retake a 2250?

I'm sorry if this offends anyone, but I've been affected by the "2300 or bust!" mentality here ;w;

The first time I got:

CR: 740
M: 680
W: 780

Total: 2200

The second time I got:

CR: 760
M: 720
W: 770

Total: 2250

Should I attempt another re-take?
As an international student, I'm aware that I need a high score, but is my current competitive enough?

if you have time, you should take another go. My friend told me not to take more than 3 times though.

Take it again and you have pretty much no chance for Yale, if you were considering Yale. Otherwise, taking it again won’t HURT you, but it’s not necessary, a 2250 (2260 Superscored) is plenty high, even from an international applicant.

^ re-taking the SAT by itself even if I raise my score would hurt my chances to an Ivy?

btw, yale does not allow score choice… so you’ll have to send all your scores…

Having said that, I think its a good idea to retake it if you think you can improve it… if not, 2250 is great for ivies.

hohoho, no.

Don’t retake, unless you suddenly start pulling perfect scores on CB-written practice tests.

No, it will only hurt you for Yale, Yale’s funny about that stuff…

Why would it hurt him for Yale?

From what I’ve heard (which could be wrong), Yale really frowns upon taking the SAT more than one really needs too (3+ times), that’s all.

Does Yale frown upon taking both the ACT and SAT tests, but once each?

Not to my knowledge. Yale also does not accept scorechoice for either the SAT or ACT, they require to see ALL test scores. However, the ACT allows you to hide yours if you wish, Yale will never know.

I think I will just work hard on my college essays rather than spend my summer studying for the SAT. I would rather do something more meaningful than worrying about getting the coveted “2300+”.
