MAKE SURE YOU RETAKE THE 2C IF YOU GOT LESS THAN 800!!! SAT II's play a DIRECT role in the admissions process for Ivy schools. In fact, the SAT II's are JUST as important and has equal weightage in admissions as your high school GPA.The Math IIC is an easy 800 and you would have probably gotten it too, if you avoidded some silly mistakes. Trust me, its definitely worth it.

Here's why:

IVY ACADEMIC INDEX: {(SATM+SATV)/2}+{(3 SATII's)/3}+GPA(reconfigured and made out of 80)=?/240
"A is for Admission"

It is well known that the academic index formula described in the book by Michele Hernandez is not a completely accurate, current description of the admissions practices of any school, especially not schools she never worked at. I actually liked the book for what it helped me understand about how competitive top school admission is, but going for a second try on that test just to get a scaled score difference within the test's standard error of measurement is a waste of time. The OP has better things to do to strengthen an application.

I doubt that a score of 780 will keep you out from getting into a select school. But if you have doubts and you are interested in retaking then go for it. Try one more time and practice with Barron's Book. Good luck :)

don't retake.
sure, an 800 is perfect, but a 780 is still an excellent score even for harvard.
