Hello. So... for the September ACT, I got a composite of 33 on my ACT (32 English, 33 Math, 29 Reading, 36 Science!) but I got a..... 7... on my essay (I don't know what happened; I just blanked out for some reason in the test). Should I retake the ACT to improve my writing or should I just leave it?

Please help!

To be honest, I’d just take that and run with it. A 33 is an excellent score on the ACT and will put you as steep competition wherever you apply. Some schools use the ACT essay for admissions, but with a 33 ACT, I’m sure that won’t totally kill you.

Thanks!
Should I also send my other score?
ACT: 31 composite (30 english, 35 math, 31 reading, 26 science, 10 essay)

WOW!! how did you improve science by 10 points??

You got a 33.

Don’t worry about the essay.

@ needs: I seriously have NO idea… hahaha I just practiced like crazy with PR 1268 and Barron’s 36… and even in the practice tests, I didn’t get over 30…
I think science is mostly based on luck… sometimes you get an easy sections, sometimes, a really hard one… (ex. the science section in the July ACT)

@ florida: oh okay thank you!

I see. So some ACT tests are easier than others??

Yeah. Sometimes the tests are much harder than usual, and sometimes they’re much easier. They adjust the scale scores every year based on how all the test takers do, so it comes out to about the same every year, varying by about 1-3 questions.
