Comparing June 08 to Oct 07 (im an upcoming senior)
Critical Reading 640 (from a 680)
Math 750 (from 650)
Writing 560 (from 590) Essay: 7 for both

total 1950 (from 1920)

I am really upset with this score! even though my math improved by 100 points, my CR and Writing combined for a loss of 70. I didnt expect such a big drop in those 2 categories! I took the SAT the first time in my soph year, so naturally my english skills should have improved or at least stayed the same...
I was aiming for a mid 20. I and hoped that by studying only for math and expecting the other 2 scores to remain close to the Oct 07 score, i'd get that mid 20.
Argh.

Retake it again?
i also need to retake math 2 (670)

combined drop of 70 points in two categories is insignficant (AP Statistics). Your superscore will be slightly higher. I would recommend retaking the SAT I as well as SAT II. If you are applying early however, you should probably retake SAT II since you only have one and some schools want 2+. Just keep working and you will improve. Try to do more practice tests. Make sure you can work within the time limit.

You my friend are not the typical asian. A typical asian would've scored 750+ (most likely 800) on the first sitting of the SAT. Moreover the typical asian scores a 2200+. Your scores are by no means unimpressive, but they do not stack up to the typical asian that you incorrectly believe yourself to be.
