I recently took the October SAT and got a 2170 (CR 770, M 670, W 730), which is a huge improvement from my previous score of 1770 (CR 600, M 580, W 590). I was planning to take the SAT subject tests (Math II and US History or Lit or Spanish) during December as well as the ACT, but my parents really want me to retake the SAT. I’m not sure if I should retake it since December is the last testing date for my scores to be considered in the application process. Also, I heard GPA (mine is 4.25 W) outweighs the SAT, so I don’t know if it would make much difference to retake the SAT. Colleges I’m looking into are UCLA, UCSD, UCI, UW, and NYU for international studies/econ major.
Google the Common Data Set for each and look at section C to see what emphasis each element gets in admission as well as how you stack up against previously admitted students. Do any of your schools require SAT IIs?
