Hey, I just got my scores for the December 2007 test:

I made a Composite of 35 and a writing of 9 (31 combined E/W) Should I retake it? (I mean, is it a neccessity, ie is a 9 horrible)

Retake a composite of 35? I'd say no.

A nine is not horrible. In fact, it's almost in the 90th percentile! But if you are not happy with that score, don't fret. I have learned to take the ACT writing graders' opinions with a grain of salt, and you should too. The probably lazy graders don't seem to understand the concept of quality over quantity, and thus only award twelves to those who chose to write a long, rambling book of gibberish.

Anyway, I would say that you should only retake the test if you plan on attending a highly selective university, such as Yale or Harvard. If that is not the case, why bother?

^isn't a 35 still REALLY GOOD for highly selective universities? lol..

Yeah I'd retake. Then again, I enjoy burning up the occasional fifty dollars and wasting my Saturday mornings.
