Hey guys, I was just wondering if I should take the Act again:

I made a 35 composite, and a 9 on the essay (31 combined E/W (97%ile)). The 35 is sexy, but do you think I should retake becuase of the writing?

Ohh yea deffinatley retake that, that writing score looks horrendous next to that 35.

You're kidding right?

Retake it...assuming you didn't already kill yourself because you couldn't handle the humilation that comes with a 9. Heck, I got higher than that...and I'm a stoner! JK!!!

I got a 35 before studying at all and retook it after doing some studying for the SAT. The second time I got a 36 and they won't see that I retook a 35. I'm happy that I retook it.

OMG YES otherwise you'll end up at community college and heck they might not even take you.

Since nobody has really answered the question, most colleges don't look at the writing, especially from the ACT. So if you send the score, you should be really proud and not afraid writing will hurt you. Still, if you'd feel more comfortable, you could take it again, but that's pretty unnecessary even at top notch schools, as that's an incredible score.

Study harder before you take it, dont just go in and expect to score higher.
Since you already took it you know what was challenging for you, work on those areas!
