Retake the test?

I'm a rising senior,
and during my junior year I've taken the SAT three times already.
Obviously, it was a HUGE mistake.
I got an 1820, then an 1850, and then an 1810.
My plan was to end up with a 2000 range score,
but should I take it again?
The colleges I plan to apply to are rather good schools...
USC and NYU are my top.
Please, help!

Also -- on the common application, do we NEED to submit all our scores? Or just the ones we want to?
I understand for UC schools we have to submit all our scores...

You are in a tough situation. Purchase the Blue Book (Official Guide to the SAT) and take 1-2 practice tests and see what you score. If you score significantly better (2000+) I think you should re-take. This may be a disadvantage when applying to the University of California System as they want to see all scores, but I am not too sure about the SAT policy of NYU.
