Retaking a 'C' grade

-As a High School soph., took Engl 1A, received 'C' grade
-Retook course to replace the 'C', received a 'B' grade (later found out 'C' grades are irreplaceable)

As I'm filling out my TAG application to UCD, I put in both courses to find that **BOTH **affect my GPA.. When I had called a Davis rep a couple months ago to know if it would be counted twice, I was told it wouldn't. My GPA came out to a 3.19 with both English classes in there and without the 'B' I have a 3.20...

Q: Will they disregard the repeat and only count the lower grade or will it be counted twice when the TAG reps evaluate the application?

The repeat won’t be counted into your GPA.

Thanks for your response, @kaurravneet6. Can anyone else confirm this??

i think they average the grade.

Why would they average the two? The second attempt shouldn’t count, am I correct?

The UC Transfer info stated that courses that “Repetition of a course with an original grade of C or better will be disregarded”. So it seems like your C will factor in, but not your B.

Thank you!!
