retaking a class twice

Hello

I started my first semester at a california cc in the fall of 2014. Didn’t do so well. This Spring I am retaking some of my fall classes. During my winter intersession, I retook one of the classes from the fall, but ended up getting a D. I was just not in the right mindset at the time, but this spring I plan on excelling in my studies. According to my cc, you can retake a class up to 3 times for credit. If I retake this class in the future for a third time and hopefully do very well, will it count against me when applying to college? I plan on applying to UCs this fall.

No, UCs take the highest grade of repeats.

However, this will be your last chance. You need to take it seriously. If you get another D/F it will not be replaced since you can no longer take it at your CC.

Have you worked out why you were struggling?

Simply no interest and motivation. I plan on taking the class this Fall so that I know I will actually be motivated.

If you don’t think you’re ready, you should consider taking some time off. Seriously.
