Retaking class I got NP in; does NP still show?

So I'm going to get a NP in a breadth history class I took this semester.

If i retake the class and get a P, will the NP still show? Will there be any evidence I retook it at all? How badly will this affect my future, considering that this is a non major class? Do I have to retake it the semester after I fail it, or can i take it anytime in my next few years at Berkeley?

No one? ,

From what I heard, it’ll still be there.

It will still be there. You can retake it any time. If it’s a non-major class, and you retake and pass it, it’s not a huge deal, except that some grad schools convert NP to F when calculating your GPA for admissions purposes. That’s your only concern, really.
