Hello! I am currently a freshman at NYU and I just finished my first semester there. I'm a bit worried about my GPA. I might end up with only around a 3.75; at worst, a 3.66, which is considered unimpressive to the very competitive schools I'm applying to. I took the SAT twice in high school and my highest score was a 2110. Should I retake it again to boost my chances?

No you’re still in good shape. You’re still very competitive with a 3.7 from a school like NYU, plus you have nothing to worry about with a 2110. What schools do you plan to apply to?

I’m applying to UPenn, Columbia, and possibly Cornell. Is a 3.7 still good enough?

3.7 is certainly competitive for Cornell; it’s perhaps the most transfer-friendly Ivy. As far as UPenn and Columbia, I’d say they’re mid/high matches, so you still have a fair shot. If you have good HS stats they could save you. But just hope for the best, because if you get that 3.75, that’s really good considering its from NYU.
