I’m in AP Statistics right now (last semester of high school) and I have a 60%, barely a D, that will most likely not hold in the near future. I’ve been accepted to Oregon State University, Washington State University, and Penn State University Park. I was accepted to those having gotten 2 Ds my junior year, one in Math Analysis/Pre Calculus and the other in AP Computer Science which I dropped after the first semester. I’m waiting on notifications from San Diego State University, Syracuse University, and Bucknell University just to name a few. Do I have a high chance of getting my acceptances revoked from the universities I’ve been accepted to? And what about the universities I’m still waiting on, IF I get accepted to them? I know it’s still somewhat early in the semester so I have some chance of bringing it up but I’d like to know what to expect as soon as possible. Your input is much appreciated ^:)^
What do the admission letters state as far as conditions you need to meet to retain your admission?
If there are specific thresholds with respect to grades and GPA, check whether you meet them (though a D or F grade in any in-progress course has a high risk of not meeting them).
If there is just a vague statement that “we expect you to maintain your academic performance”, you may want to ask each school directly whether your expected grades will put you at risk of rescission.
I think that Bucknell wouldn’t be taking a student who has/had D/F in classes
Penn State won’t care about the D. All colleges WILL care and rescind you for an F. Get a tutor now and start working.
SDSU’s provisonal acceptance requires that you maintain your current GPA (some leeway) and a C or above in all your Senior year classes.
No as long not an F, even if F could be ok unless it is a requirement for admissions and of course instill graduate. Get a tutor and study harder try to get a C
I would be worried. If you get more than 2 'C’s senior year, or even a ‘D’, they might want to take a deeper look. Those two 'D’s lurking there from last year could spell trouble. They may find it very difficult to overlook 3 'D’s in 2 years. That is not “senioritis”, it is looking more like a pattern. I do not know the policies of the individual schools, but they all look for patterns- especially improvement.
