RHP decisions

i dont have any of them online, but lets hope we both get in and then i'll show you all of them lol.
what majors are you all applying to? i am going for film of course, and i definately realize how much of a long shot it is.

I'm going for history major. BTW, Socks is from Bay Area in California (near or around San Francisco)
You should definitely youtube your videos! I always wanted to make films but no money to buy equipment and I am so bad with technology. You know I can't believe only three people out of this entire board is applying to RHP. Is this program that unknown?

the problem is, if i upload them i can no longer sell them or submit them to film festivals.
here is a trailer of a film i worked as a producer on.

http://www.film-festival.org/NB_TrailerFinal-1.mov

that's sooooo cool. what's it about? i'm interested.

zee9449, im gonna need your autograph when we meet. That looks like awesome movie. In fact, I"m really interested in your films.

think donnie darko meets spiderman.. i know, obscure. but its done pretty well.
wait'll you see what im working on now though. this baby is gonna be over a year's worth of work, is being shot on a new technology, and this time im director, not a producer.
but mann... im looking at the stats of some of the ppl on this board applying to film, and its just mind-boggling.

i really hope we all get in. do you guys think a smaller application pool this year is bad or good for us?

smaller application is good for us man.
Think about it, they accept 30-60 people a year. So if the application pool is smaller, then the acceptance rate will be significantly higher

btw, I seem to have the worst stats out of everyone applying to RHP in this board. I feel so sad...

are you kiddin?? look at all your soph APs.. i have ZERO. (do you think this will hurt me badly?)
and you took SATIIs.. not me!

id say you have me beat academically.

rexrun467,

haha no need to apologize, i was just messin with you

what was that word that's censored? 7 letters? i can't think of a bad word with 7 letters that would fit.

zee9449,
I can assure you they won't penalize you at all if you were unable to take AP's in sophmore year. I will guarentee that!!!
No, zee, your academic records looks better than mine. My freshman year gpa is a joke. (even though I explained in essay reason why).

well, I personally think you will get in man. Your ec's are awesome. My ec's are scattered because I like too many things..

illegitemate child

Actually, I don't think it makes much of a difference. I've read that they don't have any quotas for RHP, and I've seen this to be true. My '05 RHP class is much smaller than at least some of the ones they've had in the past. If they don't think you're qualified, you'll be rejected, no matter how few apply. And if they deem you qualified, you're in, no matter how big the applicant pool. :)

donnie darko's director was from USC? I got to look this up

edit/// yes he was. interesting.

sam- my essay was about this time when i got the flu like 3 weeks before an audition for the most selective ballet school in the states. i was a mediocre dancer at best at this time with a body that worked against me (im not talking about weight, it has to do with feet, hip rotation, blah). everyone told me i was dreaming to go to that school, but i set up a grueling schedule for myself and basically trained for 4hrs a day (plus stuff on my own time) over the december holidays. when the audition came around on jan 5 of that year i kicked ass and was accepted to the school. HAH. then i went on to make generalizations about how much i love working at my passions, and how impossible things are attainable if you REALLY want them. i basically said that while i am (obviously) no longer pursuing a career in a ballet company i have the same passion and drive for learning.

whoa sorry that was long!

zee- yea i live in the bay area (yay area ;-)). my school does not allow sophs to take APs either so im in the same boat as you! i didnt take SAT IIs either. woops.

i applied as biomajor, pre-med track. the bio part may change. im not married to it, i didnt know what to put and didnt want to choose "undecided" .. so i pick an obvious pmed choice.

right on, it's a weird boat to be in.
what did you get on your SAT?

Her stats are posted on page 1 of this thread.
Well 2-4 weeks until decision time. It's going to be a fun wait

Not fun anymore.. just got an email from Diane saying decisions would be mailed in March... does that mean we don't hear til March, or we don't get any postage til March?

I got an e-mail as well. Bummer dude. We get decisions in March.

Dear Applicant:
Thank you for submitting an application to the USC Resident Honors Program. Unless I have contacted you separately, your file is complete and has been sent forward for review. We will mail notification letters in March.
In the meantime, please be sure to move forward with filing your applications for financial aid.

ouch. Diane told me that we get decisions late Jan. I guess it changed.
