Rice Interim Decision Official Post

I guess they weren't uploading them, because the login page worked for me and decisions aren't up yet. Why can't they tell us when they will be posted?!?

ok, my friend at admissions just emailed me back..she said they were all mailed out yesterday.

so texans, you guys will find out today!

as for kids @ my school....none were admitted :(

The server was probably down earlier today because we had a power outage early this morning (~3 a.m.) and had no internet access back on campus until probably 10 this morning.

nothing for me today :(((
and im in houston

ii've got a really bad feeling about tomorrow: my failed calculus test, possibly my Rice letter

My day was going so good today too and i thought my Rice lettter would top it all off, but tomorrow's another day :(

hey dont be disappointed. i found out about rice when i was on my hydrocodeine from my wisdom teeth removal. i was pretty much high because that is very strong and i was very sleepy and i couldnt think straight. i just looked at it and fell asleep with it and woke up the next day realizing what had really happened. you can pretty much tell if you got in or not by the size of the envelope so look for that big envelope. the decisions are not posted on the internet immediatly. when i got mine for ED, it still said "in process" or somehting like that for like 4 more days. so it will take a while. the letters should be arriving very soon. a person in my school already got one.

they come in thick envelpes. real thick

OK I dunno if this is bad or not, but I just called Rice and asked about my login ID and PIN, and they said to go to apply.rice.edu to make an account. When I try to make my account, it says:

Invalid Data: The information that you entered can not be verified. This either means that the data you entered is incorrect or we have not received data about you from the Registrar/Human Resources.

I never received the confirmation email from this application, or atleast I dont have it any more, its possible that I deleted it. I emailed them and asked for my login and PIN number, and I guess Ill wait for a response, what else can I do?

EDIT: OK, apparantly this is the network system for Rice STUDENTS, not for applicants. I dont think the guy working at that part of the phone network understands, so Ill just wait for the letter or the email I guess.

ahh if texans didnt get theres today does that mean us non-texans have to wait until friday?! i dont think i can wait that long! lol

yea..texas gets them first!

So most of Houston hasn't gotten their letters yet. I guess I won't hear until Friday or Monday. Does anyone know if results definitely go online on Friday, or is there a chance that they could be up tomorrow?

my friends havent heard yet...we're about 3 hrs from houston. they probably won't be up tomorrow; they'll probably be up on the 10th.

oh my gosh... i hope i find out tomorrow... is it easier to get in if you live out of state and/or if you apply for humanities?

i dunno if it's easier whether or not you life in state or out of state; i would imagine it's slightly easier out of state since a majority of applications are from texas. but then again, a strong applicant will always stand out no matter where he/she is from.

as for humanities, it's non-binding, but i should imagine it's the same, no matter what you're applying for...except architecture. i could be wrong, though.

i would say its the same. i dont think that plays a factor

did anyone from Houston receive their letter yet?

Seem to have misplaced the decision log in web address. Do have the ID and PW. Could someone pass it along here? Thanx.

Ughh... just got home hoping to hear news of decisions. Really annoyed that I'm gonna have to wait two more days to hear.

I have just a general question too about Rice. How does the whole college system work? Does each college have its own dining hall, residences, etc? Do some colleges specialize in something (i.e. math/science or humanities)?

Time to do some reading on the Rice site! Colleges are residential, abitrarily mixed, some have dining halls, all have easy access to dining halls, you can eat at any of them... the rest you'll have to look up yourself! :)

ok, i live a few blocks down the street from rice (in houston) and i still havent heard anything
