This is interesting - the Jones School is on the rise again!

Too bad Rice doesnt offer undergraduate business majors

There's managerial studies, economics, mathematical economic analysis...

I'm personally doing math econ, and maybe managerial studies, and I chose Rice over UT business.

yea you dont need undergrad business, with economics you actually learn something. None of the top 20 schools in U.S. news (other than Wash U Penn and Notre Dame), have undergrad b-schools, and their econ grads and the like do as well if not better than undergrad b-school grads (aside from Wharton and the other top 5).

How is the Managerial Studies major? It seems to encompass alot of different subjects as well as the area studies.

The managerial studies major will actually make sure you learn a great deal because of Rice's collaboration with the Jones School. Undergrads get to take classes at the Jones School (like all the classes for the Business Minor, which I am pursuing), which is awesome.

You can't major in managerial studies by itself, though; you can only double major with something else like Econ or Math/Econ Analysis (or anything you like, really, like Art or Underwater Basket-Weaving)
