I am confused about the last part on a two-dimensional image... Why do they need that and what should I scan for it? I an clueless

I’ve heard it’s really just a fun thing and it doesn’t matter as long as it’s not a picture of Rice (the university), Rice (the food), or an acceptance letter.

It can be something you drew, a photo you took, or some image you found on the internet.

agree with runallday4.
Also don’t put owls. or anything outside the box and write I think outside the box.

I personally drew a black and white portrait (not very good drawing) and a person I knew drew a happy halloween sign with pumpkins and fall stuff and used crayons to colour it in. (He filled it out in October.)

Just put whatever you want. And don’t think too much about it. And don’t be cliche.

Rice prides itself on accepting unconventional students. This is one of the many places on the application where they want you to be unique. There is definitely a right answer for that box, but only you know what that is.

Also, if you think that you’re more artistic than skilled at writing, this is an (albeit small) opportunity to shine on your application.
