rigor of schedule

how much does michigan factor it in....for example, in calculating my michigan gpa, one of my B+s is in AP Physics...however, my friend who also is applying, has one less B+ and got an A- in regular physics....which is better, it just seems michigan focuses so much on GPA

I'm thinking that it's possible that those with their gpa in the lower 25 percent of UMich may have more rigor in their schedules. Like, if your gpa is a 3.6 and your schedule is very easy, I doubt you would get in (unless your tests were godly). However, people with 3.6s DO get in, and Im willing to bet they had rather tough schedules.

yeah my michigan GPA is a 3.64 and i took AP Euro, AP US, AP Physics and AP Composition and Writing in 10th and 11th grades (in addition to four more this year)

Michigan does not focus purely on GPA. Rigor of schedule, SAT/ACT, ECs, essays, background etc... all play a significant role too.
