I'm currently a junior who attended The Iowa Writer's Workshop and worked as a volunteer camp counselor at a camp for disadvantaged students last year, and took a writing class at CTY the year before. I didn't apply for TASP because my PSAT was only 97th percentile, so I didn't think I had a shot there. I did try for the PA governor's schools of Art (creative writing) and Teaching (experience volunteering and teaching kids English and helping with regular classroom activities), but Rendell's cutting off funding for them, so I fear all that preparation was in vain. I don't want to spend very much money and am not interested in any other writing camp programs - I loved Iowa but at this point I can't see myself paying a lot to attend another. So I'm looking for any other strong humanities or psychology programs, other good volunteering programs for my interests, or ideally, an internship. I've had a lot of trouble locating internships for high school students, unfortunately. How can I go about searching for internships, and can you think of any other good options for me?

Similar to IYWS. Might not be what you're looking for, though, because it's similar tuition wise to Iowa as well.

Prismatic - I just answered a similar question on this sub-forum. There are a bunch of directories that have a good list of HS specific programs and may find something there. Do a Google search but I've heard good things about both kidscamp and goabroad.

You seriously didn't apply because you thought PSATS mattered?
They don't even look at your scores...
