It is the summer before my senior year and I am worried I am not doing enough to fill the time. I will be traveling a good amount, including spending a month in Paris watching my younger cousin, among other a couple more shorter trips. This means that I will not be in any one place for enough time to get a job or participate in a meaningful summer camp or pre-college program. I was just accepted into the Adroit Summer Mentorship Program, one of the most prestigious creative writing opportunities available for high school students: 50 are selected after multiple rounds of judging from over 650, but because it is entirely online, I am concerned that I am not doing enough. Is there anything else I should be doing in the few weeks I have at home?
Try an fill some of your time by doing community service for a cause that interests you.
Thanks for the tip!

Relax and have fun.
Since you are creative and a writer, you might want to think about whether there is any thematic thread that connects your travel and time caring for your cousin with your writing and other activities. The point of your EC’s isn’t amassing the longest possible list. It’s about sharing a fuller picture of who you are as an individual. Colleges want to get a sense of what you bring as a future member of the community. You should definitely relax and have fun! And if you are letting these ideas percolate at the same time, you’ll be well-served when the time comes to write up your activities on the common app.
