Last year I had a very tough teacher for Honors English, and I suffered B's as a result. Next year I'm planning on taking APENG, but should I risk 2 more B's just for class rigor and the benefits of taking an advanced English course? Any advice is appreciated.

I think that getting a B in APENG is worth more than getting an A in another class of lesser rigor. Besides, if you well in all ur classes, have stellar SAT/ACT, and have stand out EC’s, then you should have nothing to worry about =)

^ Exactly. Also, in a lesser class, you don’t even have the chance to get an A in the advanced course. You should at least try :)

Yeah, but won’t it look bad if I had B’s for both soph/junior years?
Thank you by the way for your responses flower161 and karaokemachine.

No prob! But i dont think it would be that much of an issue unless English is your main interest cuz in that case, ur interest should be where ur excelling in

the correct answer is to take the advanced course an get an A
heres the thing though you have to take into account your entire transcript. do you have other APs? if you have a bunch more than dont take the risk. if you take no other honors then you need to show that you pushed yourself.
