wow, in MA the due date isn't even until June 15.....

For general info go the Dept of Ed site (U.S. Department of Education Home Page) and type in search Robert C Byrd Honors Scholarship. Btw, my d (in SC) rec'd snail mail letter award notification about 2 weeks ago. Her school nominated six; don't how many others won.

I received one from Michigan Department of Treasury a few weeks ago.
I didn't even know what it was.

My son just received notification today from Virginia that he is receiving the scholarship.

You can go here to find the list of Ohio winners for 2008-2009 (just posted yesterday):

2008-2009 Robert C. Byrd Honors Scholarships awarded to 481 Ohio high school seniors

HALLELUJAH, the first scholarship I can use somewhere! Thank you for not being retarded Ohio!

But no thanks for putting it on excel; I had to ask a friend for help.

Is there a list somewhere for California?

So what's the deal with MI? I have a feeling that either my school is holding on to it to give out during the awards ceremony, or that the guidance department screwed up. (BTW, MI uses MME scores and GPA. My GPA is 3.99 and my ACT (from the MME) is a 140 (35.0)) Also they said that they nominated me (I even had to fill out the nominating sheet for them) and I have received nothing at all since then.

Don't know about MI, but I know some states don't announce the Robert C. Byrd scholarship winners until June or July.

NY sent letters out to Byrd recipients and their schools this week.

...................

Wisteria, does that mean we should have heard in NY, or should be hearing this week?

When does CA release its list of recipients?

The Byrd letters to NY recipients are mailed out by the NYS Education Department, which is located in Albany. Some principals and students in counties near Albany received their letters Thursday and Friday. The mail may take longer in other places in the state.

I just spoke to a GC at D's school, he said that he has not heard a word on anyone from our school nor has he heard from any students that received anything. He also said that traditionally, every student they have nominated from our school in the past has won the award up until last year when there was one nominated student who did not win. FYI

Son was notified that he is a winner from school yesterday and we are from California.

Hmmm...tonight is awards night at our school. Could be that the GC might have been holding out on me? Do NYS students usually get letters directly or through their schools?

My D in NYC got her award directly, in the mail, after school was over last year.

I got my letter in the mail today! I'm a Robert C. Byrd Honors Scholar! From GA.. Best of luck everyone else!
