Not sure, could be that. Maybe I have it backwards; maybe it was cultural that was 5th and 6th then?

Edit: Then sweet, did I get into Wilderness?

hey syneria, was wilderness the first choice for you when you applied? because i heard it was competitive so im guessing they mainly accept people who really wanted it.

Man forget wilderness. I wrote a shiet load on that paper. Good shiet too... Well i thought it was. But they still accept me. But hey House D is gonna be the top dogs at Muir's intramural sports!!

Liux43 do you mean they still DIDNT accept you? because it seems thats where youre getting at.

so i found this info on facebook for the muir people

"Houses are 2 floors. So, "A House" is floors 1&2 of Tenaya, "B House" are floors 3&4 of Tenaya, and so on.

Houses A, B, C, D are in Tenaya (the shorter building), and Houses E, F, G, H, I, J are in Tioga (the really tall building

In the house breakdown, Rooms that are 00-49 are on the bottom of the two floors (the odd floor) and 50-89 are on the top of the two floors (the even floor)

So, again for example, room TE-B56, would be in the B house, which is floors 3&4 of Tenaya, 56 mean it's on the upper of the two floors, so, B56 is on the fourth floor."

apparently im on the first floor....... -.-

o yeah.. typo.. i can't edit it. Weak sauce

thanks for the infor gracie06!
but hmm, so maybe im not in the themed house i wanted to be in anymore since i thought i was on a different floor in tioga. so whats the theme on floors 5 and 6 in tioga or the G house, if there is one? culture? i think syneria mentioned that. if so, damn.

I heard wellness was in tenaya. Darn it, i'll never know. Well, at least not until sept 16th. I guess somebody could ask housing. Does anybody know how they figure out who gets what dorm? My parents were asking, and I honestly have no idea.

Hm, so if i am in TI-E52, that means i'm on the second floor. Oh well, there's always next year for that ocean view...

vi, whatever happened to you sleeping in my closet?

Hey all you Muir people, I snuck into Tioga with a buddy today to check out my room (they left the north staircase unlocked haha).

Tioga has NEW carpet, new bathroom stuff (sinks, showers, etc), everything is freshly painted.. the place looks NICE. I don't know if the furniture will be new, the rooms were still empty.

Anyways, as has already been said, the letter in your room number denotes your House. I am in G House (Wilderness House) which is Tioga floors 5-6. The next number is your suite. I am TI-G81, so 80's suite. 10's-40's are on the first floor of the house, 50's-80's are on the second.

The 6th floor of Tioga is oriented like this (hope you get my crappy drawing):

(ocean side)
80's|----------|50's

70's|----------|60's
(building front)

So I assume that the rest of the floors are like that as well:

40's|----------|10's

30's|----------|20's

81, 85, and 86 were on the left side of the suite and 82 & 84 were on the right (81 and 85 singles, the rest trips)

Yeah Muir and YEAH G HOUSE!

feel free to drop me a PM if you're in G house and we can facebook it up :D

i'm not getting the 81, 85, 86 on the left side and 82/84 on the right. i know my suite faces the ocean, but i don't know about my room itself. clarification? via maybe, another "crappy" drawing?

and THANK YOU for that description! at least i know that my room won't be like those craptastic photos i saw on their website. are there still cinderblocks for walls?

yeeeee!!!!

http://hds.ucsd.edu/housing/roomtype.html
if anyone is still confused--this explains the different kind of rooms

No prob. What I mean is, when you enter the suite, the 1, 5, and 6 rooms were on your left, and the 2 and 4 rooms were on your right. Crappy drawing:

|.....|
}6.4{
}5...|
|...2{
}1...|
|.....{bathroom

...^enter suite here

{ = door
| = wall
periods are just placeholders to keep drawing aligned

Hope that helps.. but keep in mind I don't know if all suites are layed out this way.

hey does anyone know where the heck sixth college apartment building 300 is!? so far ive only heard of people getting into 1500 and 1700...

This map might kind of help you dude.
http://hds.ucsd.edu/images/ucsdcampusmap.pdf

i'm alternating between my dorm, your (nieck's) closet, and the area in front of kenny's dorm. and if you beezies decide to evict me, i'll move under Geisel.

alright, so i'm really lost as to my rooming situation. first of all it tells me i have a Plus 1 and it only gives me one other roommate. secondly, i see that most people got the names of all their suite mates while i only got my information and the information of my one other roommate. lastly, i've heard all that 1-49 on the bottom and 50-89 are on the top floor of the houses, but my room number is TI-F401. so, where would that leave me? my last question is regarding themed housing. i believe F house is 3&4. does anybody know if that house has a theme?

Edit: LOL didn't see page 20. I think I am in Cultural house. (: Guess I was wrong about what floor I was on; seems I'm on 4th floor. Hm, wish I was higher up but it's not terribly bad I guess. No view, I bet, but oh well.
