Room Setup?

What's your room setup? Is it totally different from what you had at home or somewhat the same? Just curious...

PS--I'm already in college, just want to know how everybody else decorates. Maybe get some ideas for next year.

I'm a girl and have Joe Boxer sheets and comforter :) I love my pillow because it's got a GIANT smiley face on it. I'm a huge tomboy though....my roommate has "girly" sheets--bright pink w/ a black comforter; I die a little inside when I see it. Her side of the room is clearly "girly"--flowery picture frames, pink throw pillow, etc...and she's emo which kinda drives me nuts, mainly because all of her guy friends wear the same jeans I do. I'll never forget the day I walked in and her and her guy friend were wearing the SAME pair of jeans and neither noticed it...::shudders:: Anyway, back to my side of the room--picture collage of friends from home, snowboard leaning on wall, my school's sports posters--football, mens/womens basketball, hockey, wrestling, volleyball, gymnastics...all of them. My rooms alot like mine back home--except the posters now are for my college and not my HS...other than that it's alot the same.

This may be a stupid thread. Or it could be helpful to give ideas to those seniors in HS.

It's different from my room at home because my mom redid my room, lol. Not that I mind since I'm never there. The dorm is sort of similar to how my room at home was before I left though. My dorm is not incredibly colorful, the only real color is the curtains, rug, and bedding. My roommate has a hot pink/fuschia shiny comforter with purple and fuschia sheets. My bedding is light green and light pink (comforter is reversible, it's pink on one side, green on the other) and I have two pairs of sheets, a solid pink pair and a pair with a green bottom sheet and striped top sheet. My mom used the fitted sheet from the striped pair (because it's wasn't XL twin, just twin) to make the valances on our windows. She also made us green curtains. Our rug is a shaggy pink rug that's like, Mary Kate and Ashley brand or something. Our beds are also bunked.

We don't really have any colored accessories though. Our furniture is the boring wood that the school provides. We have a bunch of posters up though. I have two Johnny Depp ones (one as Jack Sparrow, one as himself), Harry Potter, The Breakfast Club, and Lost. Danielle has Green Day, the Beatles, and a photo poster a friend made her of the view from the top of La Tour Eiffel. There's also a poster for our school's football team above the window. We both also have pictures put up from home, hers are by her desk and mine are beside my bed.

We have a cabinet above our closets, so to maximize space we put our TV up there. We also store stuff up there on the other side. Our dressers are back-to-back and the microwave and minifridge are on top of them.

The way my dorm is arranged, there are doubles and triples with a wall separating each person's section. The bed pushes into the wall during the day, and pulls about 8 inches out at night, and there are shelves in the wall above the bed. Across from the bed is a small desk area with shelves attatched to a dresser. I have my TV and makeup case on my dresser, and my laptop, coffee pot, a little 3-drawer thing, and hair dryer and straightener on my desk. Next to my dresser I have three pink stackable crates from Linens n Things, with my xmas tree (which I have decided brightens the room up nicely) in front of it. Next to that is our microfridge, and then it's the wall that has the closet in it.

Color-wise, my room is very Disney. I have bright pink curtains, shag rug, and pillowcase, with light yellow sheets, a blue with yellow star comforter and pillowcase, and a Disney princess throw. I have a Disney poster and Harry Potter poster, picture, and framed artwork. I also have a couple sample art prints (a Bellet (sp?) and a Fanche). And I have a Winnie the Pooh calendar and a whole lot of stars and duck stuff hanging all over my room. A lot of my shelves have stuffed animals decorating them, and I have these two cartoon wire/stuffed flowers on my wall, and a string of flower lights (that don't work) and porcelain drama masks. I also have a vase of fake flowers behind my fish tank on top of my microfridge. My room is much more pink than at home, and it feels cluttered, because it's so small, though I like the colorful and cutsyness of it all. Plus it shows a lot of my interests (ducks, Harry Potter, stars, Disney, and theatre).

My dorm room's similar to how my was at home, but I don't have nearly as much stuff on the walls here. Next to my bed on the wall I have 5 Harry Potter related posters (a Hogwart's banner type thing, a the Prisoner of Azkaban movie poster, a Goblet of Fire movie poster, a generic HP poster that's got cartoon Harry because it was from before the movies, and a Leaky Mug poster), a Post-it calender that's blue, lime green, and orange, a Gryffindor pennant I made, and a few pictures of friends.

My sheets are brown, and my comforter has stripes of varying widths that are light blue, brown, tan, and wite. On my lower closet shelf I've got three small crates that hold my cds, and a few more pictures of friends. I've got a small tv, but it's just sitting on the floor next to my bed because I don't have a cable to connect it with. If it ever do get a cable, I'll probably move the tv into my suite's common area, because there's really no good place in my room to put it.
