My D has a roommate that she knew before college but not well. My D has a severe eating disorder and has already been home twice since August. (Long term she will prob end up leaving but she wants to try )
While dealing with this
While dealing with the above last week after being home for the weekend the roommate fposted a pix of herself in my daughters clothes lying on her bed. After coming back last night a week later again she found her bed unmade. She’s afraid to move dorms afraid that the girls will talk about her and is obviously fragile to begin with, but jeez such an invasion of one of the only places she is suppose to stay safe. We have the pictures etc. is this bullying? Who should we go to This sounds silly but because she is weighed everyday at mental health clinic and has therapist there should she tell them? If I can convince her the school probably has no empty dorms. No one should have to endure this? Help please any thoughts would be appreciated
Her first step has to be the RA. There will be a roommate contract made that neither is to touch each other’s belonging, sit on the beds, and NOT post any pictures of the other person’s stuff.
When we went to orientation, the head of housing said the biggest number of complaints about roommates were sitting on each other’s beds. So the ‘don’t touch my stuff’ rule is paramount.
The therapist might be able to suggest she have a single, but I doubt could do anything else with housing.
Given that she has other issues, I would talk to someone at the mental health clinic if it is associated with the school
If not, go to the housing department and talk to them as well as the RA.
