Roommate Request Question

Hello everyone! :D I just have a real quick question about requesting a roommate. I have already submitted my Housing Request Form and left the roommate request field blank, but recently a friend of mine asked me if he and I would like to be roommates and it sounds like a great idea. I know that I can just email the department of residence life with my University ID and name, and his ID and name...but my question is that we are both future Honors College students, except I will be in the DCC and he will be in University Honors.

Is there anyway we would be able to room with each other, but still comply with the housing rules for certain Honors Colleges?

Thanks in advance for any responses!!!

i’d love to get a response :)

bump

bump one more time haha

I would guess the answer is yes, since you are both Honors. That is just a guess though.

OP, I really don’t know for sure. I’d say that if it does work out the most likely scenario is that you would both be put in Hagerstown. It’s basically impossible that the University Honors person will be pulled into Queen Anne’s.
The chance that your request would be ignored is rather high also, though. I don’t know anyone who’s tried this so I really can’t say. :(

Yeah, they don’t care THAT much. I know a TON of people who live/lived in Cumberland simply because they requested someone in one of the Scholar’s programs that live there. You are probably more likely to get Hagerstown only because it is bigger and thus easier to accommodate.

EDIT: be aware that Queen Annes is SUPER nice and Hagerstown is thought of as one of the grosser North Campus dorms. Just something to be aware of.

Thank you guys so much for your responses!! It isn’t completely set in stone yet on whether we are going to try to do that, and I honestly wouldn’t have a preference of one dorm over another.
