Rooms and housing costs

So the estimated cost for living on campus is around $27.5k, correct? Is this assuming you're living in a standard double room? Because the cost of a ST is over 2k less than a standard double.

Also, they don't take the cost of your room into account when figuring financial aid, do they? Like, they won't reduce your aid after you've been assigned to a cheaper/more expensive room?

I think the number is an estimate including book fees, living expenses, tuition, and the standard room size, which is a regular double. If you live in a small triple, it is cheaper by x amount and if you are in a single it is more expensive by x amount.

Not sure about the financial aid but I don’t think they do. The cost difference between a small triple and a single is ~$3k per year, which is fairly small in comparison to the overall cost of attending the University.

No they don’t do that. But just to let you know for later on, make sure you still get the same amount when you plan on living off campus. Sometimes (or maybe all times) you only get financial aid for housing if you live on campus, so you lose it once you move off campus.
