So I’m attending UCF as a transfer student in the Fall of 2015 and my acceptance was about a month ago. Do to the late reply I found that the only housing I can get that is still affiliated with UCF is the Rosen College Apartments. I don’t really mind the distance but I was wondering if there was any mandatory classes I would have to take from the hospitality management college to be housed there. My major is Chemistry so that has no correlation to it but I would still like to know.
The Towers might still have space. However, “affiliated” is the wrong term. Rosen, Towers, Northview, Hercules, etc are UCF’s on-campus housing (period).
UCF also has “UCF Affiliated Housing” at many apartments in the area. UCF provides Resident Assistants, patrols with UCF police department, and accepts financial aid for payments at those locations. Most (all?) are also on the UCF shuttle bus route.
BTW: You do NOT want to stay at Rosen and commute. Rosen is over 25 miles away in the most crowded area of downtown Orlando. And it’s got major tolls along the way.
Call the Housing Office. Or log into my.ucf>> housing>>apply to see what is available. If they cannot place you on campus, they will help you find off campus housing in the immediate vicinity (5 minutes).
I’ve decided to cancel and Im trying to decide which off campus apartment i want to stay at. My budget is $600. any reccomendations? Im thinking about The Lofts and The Pointe but I want a safe place too.
There are several Facebook pages addressing UCF housing. You should definitely check out the safety vibe on one of those pages.
